Pass the PRO Act!
Why should you support the PRO Act?
The PRO Act is a pro-worker legislation that would, among other things, increase the strength of Unions vis-a-vis employers, increase protections for workers - including undocumented workers - and promote increased worker solidarity. The Pro Act would accomplish this, in part, by ending “right to work” laws nationwide. Right to work laws severely diminish the power and efficacy of Unions. Only 5.7% of workers in Arizona are members of a Union as of 2019 while the national average was 10.8% - more than double Arizona’s membership rate. In addition, Union-busting in Arizona is a common practice, depriving workers of valuable protection and institutional powers against legally omnipotent employers. As an example of the impact of anti-worker laws, Arizona is ranked 45th for teacher salary in the United States.
